FAQ

How is JET A-1 different to a management consultancy, or an automation agency?

Most firms sit on one side of a line.

Strat consultants tell you what to change, hand over a deck, and leave before anything is built.

Automation agencies build what you ask for, but rarely understand the business well enough to know whether it was the right thing to build.

We deliver value in the middle.

We find where your operation is actually losing money, redesign how that part of the business works, and deploy the system that fixes it; typically proven systems we've built and run before, adapted to your business rather than invented from scratch on your budget.

You get the thinking and the working system, from the same team.

Why has my business become harder to run as it's grown?

Growth quietly adds friction.

More people, more tools, more spreadsheets, more exceptions, more workarounds, more things that only a few people know how to do.

Each addition made sense on its own; together they slow everything down. Margins tighten, handovers break, and the leadership team becomes the bottleneck.

That accumulated drag is operational friction, and it shows up in predictable places: your processes, your decisions, your communication, your systems, your information, your customer experience and the seams where systems are meant to connect but don't.

Naming it is the first step. Removing it is the work.

What will this cost?

We scope every engagement against a defined, measurable commercial return, and our fee is accountable to that return.

In practice that means we quote against the value of the result [the time recovered, the revenue enabled, the cost removed] not against hours worked.

If we don't believe we can deliver a strong return on your particular problem, we'll tell you.

Specific numbers belong to your specific situation, so pricing is agreed in a proposal once we both understand the problem.

What if it doesn't work?

We remove most of that risk before any build begins.

Each engagement starts by defining the return we're aiming for with you, and how we'll measure it, so success isn't a matter of opinion afterward.

Situ-analysis and diagnosis always comes first; we don't deploy until we've confirmed where the value actually is.

And because we typically deploy variants of systems that have already worked elsewhere this further de-risks.

We take ownership for that to which we commit.

Accountability for the result is written into how we scope and price the engagement.

How long does it take?

We think in micro-projects to accelerate your speed-to-value.

Typically we are not starting from a blank page.

We deploy proven systems and adapt them to your business, so delivery is measured in days and weeks.

Speed never comes at the cost of understanding.

We must diagnose your operation first, and proven doesn't mean just 'templated'.

It means we've solved this shape of problem before.

Do I own the result? Am I locked in?

You own it. We build capability into your business, not dependency on ours.

The system is yours, it runs in your business, and it keeps working after we've gone.

The tools we use are cloud-based from successful, legitimate and well supported vendors, with deep support capability.

Ongoing support and improvement are recommended and available if you want them; even better is to bundle that with proactive opportunity 'hunt and kill'.

But this is always as an option you choose, never a leash you're tied to.

Building you something you can't run without us would contradict the entire reason we exist.

What happens to my team?

For us this isn't a headcount exercise, it's about releasing people to more valuable and strategic work.

Friction removal takes the repetitive drag off your good people so they can direct time on the work that actually needs a human.

Better businesses need their best people doing better work, not fewer people doing the same work under more pressure.

Do you work remotely or on site?

Distance is dead. We have clients across the world.

We are virtual-first, priced in USD, with on-site work by arrangement where it earns its place.

Where a business is located is near-irrelevant for us, it is about whether it has the kind of friction we're best at removing.

How much time will this take?

Not much, and we're deliberate about protecting it.

We need 3 things from you:

> agreement in a clear statement of the problem and the result you want,

> access to the relevant systems and data,

> and an empowered decision-maker available at the few points where a system is going to change how something is done.

Some engagements need little more than that; others ask for more as we go.

We'll always be explicit about what we need and when.

Is this all about AI? Do I need AI?

Sometimes yes, and more frequently than the current noise will lead you to think, often no - and that's the point.

We start with the business problem, not the tech.

Deterministic work stays deterministic, because reliable, repeatable tasks don't need reasoning (AI) bolted onto them.

We bring AI in only where genuine judgement or interpretation adds value the business can measure. AI is one tool in the kit, chosen when it's right for the outcome, never the reason for the engagement.

Where do I start?

With an assessment.

Either because you point is at a pain-point you know you need sorted, or more generally across your org or department(s).

This is typically a fixed-scope look at where your operation is leaking time, money and capacity.

These will be findings you own, whether or not you go further with us. It's the front door to everything else we do, because we won't propose a fix until we've confirmed where the value actually is.

That's the right first conversation: a structured look at where your business is losing money, and what it would be worth to stop.

Do you guarantee the ROI?

Yes.

Once we have agreed with you on scope, current cost of process, ROI target & measurement, and the future actions within the operation that you are responsible for, we will deliver or we will refund your project fee.
